What is Lymphedema?
Lymphedema is a chronic and progressive condition characterized by swelling of the extremities or the head and neck region. This condition most often affects the arms or legs as a result of lymphatic failure. This abnormal accumulation of proteins in the body’s tissue can cause tissue proliferation to the affected areas over time.

Lymphedema Treatment at Revive Rehab

Pre-surgical Lymphedema Evaluation: We offer pre-surgical evaluations for baseline extremity measurements, skin assessment, therapeutic exercises and lymphedema education.

Complete Decongestive Therapy: We use Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) to treat patients with lymphedema. This effective comprehensive approach incorporates:

•  Manual lymphatic drainage

•  Skin care

•  Compression bandaging

•  Therapeutic exercises

•  Self-care training

•  Patient and family education

Once maximum volume reduction is achieved, the patient will be fitted for a compression
garment and instructed to continue with exercises, skin care and self-manual lymphatic
drainage. Follow up visits will be scheduled as needed.

* A prescription from a doctor is required for lymphedema management.

Our Services

Our therapists are trained in Myofascial Release treatment techniques by John F. Barnes himself and offer a very individualized, hands-on, therapy session to all our clients. Our therapy sessions usually last for an hour and our goal is to eliminate pain and restore range of motion. We also train our clients to perform correct stretching and home exercises to continue the benefits of therapy.
